Raul Echeverria
Mr. Echevarria has worked for Bickerdike Redevelopment Corporation, a 39-year-old, not-for-profit community development corporation, since 2003. As the Projects Coordinator for the New Communities Program (NCP) in Humboldt Park he coordinates the outreach and organizing, research and some project facilitation components of the NCP. Mr. Echevarria has helped coordinate a Quality of Life planning process, working with a Task Force of over 40 organizations, community residents and planning consultants. As part of the process he also works with several sub-committees and works to help groups collaborate in order to get projects off the ground.
Prior to coming to Bickerdike, Mr. Echevarria worked for the Chicago Public Schools as a School’s Assistant in area elementary schools for almost 13 years. In that position he assisted various Special Education Teachers in their classrooms and with their students. He also volunteered in various after school activities such as tutoring and youth basketball. Mr. Echevarria served as a director on the Bickerdike Board for two years before being hired by Bickerdike.
Mr. Echevarria is a member of The Neighborhood Chapel where he serves as an elder. He has lead various ministry groups including a youth group and a men’s mentoring group. He has been a member of this congregation for 10 years.
Raul joined the Friends of the Bloomingdale Trail board in 2006.
