The Friends of the Bloomingdale Trail, in partnership with the Chicago Park District, would like to invite local musicians and performers to participate in the “The Sounds of Solstice: An Evening on the Bloomingdale Trail.”
This free, sunset event will take place on June 22nd, from 4:00-10:30 pm, UP on the Bloomingdale Trail. The Trail will host live music, food vendors, campfire, activities and surprise performances at a series of 5 performance nodes on the western end of the Trail from Spaulding Ave. to Ridgeway. The event will feature intimate performance experiences in unique settings on the Bloomingdale Trail, from a serenade in the woods, to a performance atop the Observatory, and surprise performances in-between.
The Friends of the Bloomingdale Trail are seeking submissions from musicians and other performers. We want to showcase the rich variety of Chicago’s performing artists, and are looking for diversity in genre and scale. Do you sing in a choir, juggle, play in a garage band, sing in the shower (really well), do magic, perform on the "L", play drums, saxophone, guitar, flute, xylophone? We want you up on the Trail!
This is a grassroots event being put on by neighborhood volunteers. Performers will be compensated with a small honorarium and are encouraged to accept donations on-site.
To be considered for participation please submit the following information to firstname.lastname@example.org by June 3rd. Please put “Sounds of Solstice” and your name in the subject line. We will reply no later than June 5th.
