Five Reasons You Should Register for the Bloomingdale Trail Run

The 4th Annual Bloomingdale Trail Run is taking place on Saturday, August 12th, 2023 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am. Here are some incentives to encourage folks to join the fun:

Palenque LSNA’s Tamale Fest in Hermosa is the same day as the BT Run. You can run at 9 am and then head over to the festival to enjoy one of Mexico’s greatest food traditions. Palenque LSNA is offering a free tamal to every registered runner!
The StopAlong has two locations along the Bloomingdale Trail, at 1812 N. Milwaukee Ave. as well as at Boiler Room, 2210 N. California Ave. They’re giving a free burger/pizza coupon to every runner!
The top three winners in each age category will win a package of gift certificates from restaurants along the Bloomingdale Trail. Participating restaurants include our generous sponsors Yolk and Ørkenoy. It’s a tasty way to celebrate your win and eat your way along the trail.
Everyone, including kids, gets a Bloomingdale Trail Run t-shirt and Bloomingdale Trail tote bag with their registration. UPDATE: We apologize, but as of 8/7/23, we cannot guarantee t-shirts with registration. All other incentives are still part of the registration fee.

Here are the run details:

This is a family-friendly event with a timed 5K as well as ¼ and ½ mile dashes for young runners. Runners will begin and finish on the West end of the Bloomingdale Trail at the McCormick YMCA (1834 N. Lawndale) with light breakfast treats, fruit and coffee provided for all participants. Please note, The Bloomingdale Trail will be closed to all other users while the run is being conducted. The Bloomingdale Trail Run is produced by the Friends of the Bloomingdale Trail, the McCormick YMCA and the Chicago Park District. It is generously sponsored by AdHoc, Yolk, Christy Webber Landscapes, StopAlong Cafe, Ørkenoy, Palenque and Trailhead.
